5 Reasons to Hire a Princess for Your Kids’ Birthday Party

Some of you reading this right now might have strong feelings about hiring a princess character for your kid’s birthday party. Trust me; I get it. I’ve seen my share of character performers who just didn’t seem to care about their job.

And it is a job; being a princess party character is hard work. It’s a challenging but rewarding job that requires presence, focus, commitment, in addition to patience, flexibility, and a sense-of-humor. On top of all of that, the best party princesses will also look incredible, and have solid singing, dancing, and acting talents.

So let’s say you found a perfect party princess, but you’re still thinking about whether booking a performance is for you. Here are 5 reasons you should “say yes to the princess”…

1. You get to enjoy the party, too!

I think this is probably the most important reason to book a party princess, because come on, let’s be real: a kid’s birthday party is probably one of the rare times you get to be around grown-ups (outside of the work week) and enjoy an adult conversation in real life. If ‘Cinderella’ is off singing to your six year old and their friends, you can finally take a breath, grab a glass of rosé, and have a chat with YOUR besties.

2. There’s less work for you to do.

Planning a festive birthday party takes a lot of time out of your regular schedule. You might even be reading this right now, at midnight, hoping to squeeze in some party planning while the kiddo is (finally) sleeping. Now imagine doing all of that planning but then still having to be the entertainment for 20 kindergarteners the day of the party! I say, relax. You don’t need to be a hero, because you can just hire a hero. Leave the children’s entertainment to the experts and save yourself some time and energy.

3. You’ll decrease your stress level and mental load.

Speaking of experts, let me ask you: how often do you entertain large groups of children? If your answer is next to never, then this reason alone should be enough to convince you to book a professional princess. Like the Pied Piper in a hoop skirt and silver slippers, an exceptional party princess will completely take over the moment she sashays through the door and keep kiddos engaged and having fun so that YOU don’t have to. Plus, having one less thing to think about is always a good thing when you’re busy planning a party. Mental load is a real thing and you should not feel bad for wanting to take care of yourself. In fact, you need to take care of yourself, and believe it or not, giving your kids an hour or so with a party princess is a good way for you to get in a little self care.

4. Your party theme will come to life (literally)!

Kids parties are notorious for their themes, and since most of those themes tend to be famous fairytales or pop-culture hits from movies or television, you tend to start seeing the same thing over and over. There’s nothing wrong with that of course, however, booking a princess character is still a unique way to enhance a party theme. Inviting a princess character to the party makes the experience enchantingly real for your kiddo and their friends. It’s a fantastic feeling that’s tough to describe and must be experienced first-hand.

5. You create new, magical memories to last a lifetime.

Okay, so maybe this is the most important reason to hire a princess for your kid’s party. What else could top the feeling of hearing the words “This was my best party ever!” from their little girl or boy? I can’t tell you how many parents have shared that their child spoke these very words to them after having our princess characters entertain at their party. Of course you’ll have pictures and probably some video of the character with your birthday kid, too. But there’s nothing better than the feeling of making a child happy. And in the end, that is the most important reason.
